Description: This one-day seminar will discuss the four basic skills all children need to learn to read. The four areas of instructional focus will include: Working with Words, Self-directed Reading, Guided Reading and Writing. Meaningful strategies, such as word wall basics and Anchor-Read-Apply Comprehension lessons, as well as writing strategies, will be discussed at length. The Whole to Part assessment will be introduced.
