He shares what portfolios are, how they support student learning and the teaching of writing, as well as helpful ideas on how to effectively use portfolios.  Richard is the Director of the Michigan Portfolios . He is also the co-author of The Portfolio Guidebook and consults with educators in the area of teaching writing and writing assessment.
