What is mi PLACE?

mi PLACE (Michigan Professional Learning and Collaboration Environment) is a virtual learning community being developed and sponsored by Oakland Schools. It functions on a Moodle-based platform integrated with Google apps for education to allow inter and cross district and school collaboration. All users must sign on with a Google account and create a profile to join the community.

To join mi PLACE:

  1. Be sure you’re logged into the Google account you want to use for your mi PLACE profile.
  2. Visit  www.miplacek12.org/
  3. Click on the “sign in with Google”
  4. Fill out your profile.
  5. Click on “The Hub” to search for learning.
  6. Click on “The Collaboratorium” to search for groups or to create a collaboration group.
