Workshop Description This session demonstrates how elementary teachers can integrate social studies texts into their classrooms. We will focus on building students’ academic vocabulary and supporting literacy instruction across the curriculum in support of the Common Core literacy standards. We will also discuss how to develop appropriate text sets to meet both Common Core ELA standards and Social Studies Grade Level Content Expectations.
